This week's Weekly Leader column - Living in Transition Space - looks at a different way of understanding change.
Instead of thinking of change as simply disruptive, we should look at it as a transition process. Our natural tendency will be to focus on the transition point. However, we typically living in the transition space between those junctures of change.
I'm convinced that the frequency of these transition points are going to increase. As a result, we need to develop new ways of approach our work as organizational leaders. This is what the column addresses this week.
I was recently asked to submit an article to "findyournerve.com" - to be published in early November. Interestingly, I wrote about transitions. I state:
"Suddenly, organizations in survival mode are being challenged with another transition. This transition is about how to grow once again. And this is the take home point. I believe the toughest race for business leaders is to understand how to best lead through transitions."
We both agree that transitions are integral to future success. This will demand leadership that can engage the hearts and minds of everyone... Leaders must adapt, or else...?
