Brigett Cheney, along with her husband Steve, are back at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Min. She is having additional test done following a long series of them in April.

You
Will Not Believe This
So, I am sitting here in the Alfred Unit family
waiting room because at 7:49am central time. Bridgett entered the OR to have
another brain surgery. It just seemed this was the only chance to help.
She is a very brave person. She has been through so much and is very tough. She
has accomplished so much - but right now, I just feel so bad for her - there is
no reason she should have to do this. I wish I could go in to the OR, get her
out, walk to the door, get on the plain, get the kids, go home and never ever
have to see another doctor, never ever again having anything else to deal with
- free from this all. But no, she is on a bed in the OR, right now, probably
getting her skull removed.
This morning was so so for her medically - but I am worried about
her emotions. This is far from easy. She was quiet, still, very stoic this
morning - not her typical self. Please lift up your prayers - we can together
ask God to give her assurance, and hope.
Recovery
Alright
it's ten after 1pm on Thursday April 12 and Bridgett has just left surgery (a 4
hour surgery) and is now in recovery - hopefully no longer than two hours. Not
much else to say - yet.
ICU
Bridgett
is out of recovery and now in NeuroICU. She woke up enough to be
considered awake around 3:15pm central time.
I would not wish brain surgery on anyone. She is very weak, in considerable
pain, can't open her eyes pass a squint, can't pull the muscles together enough
to speak and can't hear very well as a wrap around her head also covers her
ears. She is passing her "tests" - the squeeze my hand, wiggle your
toes, etc. She is absolutely miserable. But she managed to murmur "this is
for the kids."
I am to "report back" at 4:3opm central time to be with her and
hopefully will be with her for much of the evening.
